The Matthew of Bristol, a replica of the English ship that explorer John Cabot used to discover North America in 1497.

Learn about how The Matthew after the voyage's sponsor Bristolian Richard Amerike (not Amerigo Vespucci as is widely believed) in 1507.

The Matthew is available to visit in Bristol Floating Harbour. Look around and talk to our knowledgeable volunteers, or take a trip with us around the harbour, down the river or out to sea. Book a ticket or book the whole boat. 

The Matthew offers a unique venue for a party, team-build or corporate event.

Beaumanor Hall is a Victorian country house located in Woodhouse, Leicestershire. Set in 34 acres of idyllic countryside, Beaumanor has been run by Leicestershire County Council since the 1970s and offers a whole range of facilities.

Beaumanor Hall offers outdoor learning experiences for children of all ages, from Foundation Stage through to post 16, from adventurous activities to nature studies and historical themed days.  It also offers residential overnight accommodation.

At St Catherine's we are aiming to offer a learning experience to visiting schools and groups that uses the landscape as a personal stimulus for the wider issues of sustainability. Currently we are based in some traditional stone buildings at St Catherines and from here we explore the surrounding woods, fields and streams using a wide range of environmental education techniques to stimulate the senses and get people thinking about how to live sustainably.

The Imperial War Museum, London has been newly refurbished and now features a vast array of weapons and vehicles as well as a range of exhibitions, including RAF planes, tanks and amphibious vehicles.

From 2014 the focus is on the centenary of the First World War. Visit our galleries and art exhibition about World War 1, plus the Holocaust exhibit, while modern warfare features through a body of work about Afghanistan.

There is a fascinating Curiosities of War exhibit and a look at families in wartime.
