Physical Education teachers spend their working lives taking groups to play matches, participate in athletic competitions, and on outdoor walking and climbing activities. There would appear to be little time for any extra visits, and yet P.E. staff find time to take groups to a variety of venues.
Visits by P.E. and Games teachers are, of course, mainly to sporting venues – either as participants or spectators. Some venues are iconic, such as Wembley, Cardiff Arms Park, Lord's, Twickenham or Old Trafford, but the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum has its adherents, as do the British Golf Museum at St Andrews, the National Football Museum in Manchester and the Olympic Park, London.
But for something a bit different some schools visit the National Clay Shooting Centre at Woking, the National Motorcycle Museum just off junction 6 of the M42, the National Badminton Museum in Milton Keynes, or the Archery Museum at the University of Manchester, or the various sailing centres around our coast.

Sailcraft operates in the sheltered waters of Brancaster Statthe Harbour south of Scolt Head Island surrounded in marches and creeks. Suitable for both beginners and experienced sailors alike the bay offers a unique boating area for a variety of water sports activities.
NSSA is affiliated to the Royal Yachting Association, the sport’s governing body, and is a Recognised Teaching Establishment. We run courses for all abilities from complete beginner through to advanced levels including Instructor Training.

We are a UK sailing club on the east coast that provides dinghy racing on the sea and have an inland lake for junior sailing. Snettisham Beach, on the North West Norfolk coast is a popular sailing venue for Laser 2000, Laser 1, Dart 18 Catamarans and Toppers.
For Secondary Schools we continue to offer, at a reduced rate, the opportunity to charter the Wherry for groups of up to twelve (including staff) to experience life aboard and help the experienced crew of three sail the boat. A three to four hour trip has been found to work best fitting in with the normal school day.
Whitlingham Outdoor Education Centre is located on the outskirts of Norwich within Whitlingham Country Park in Trowse.
The centre offers outdoor and adventurous activities for anyone 8 years+ with an emphasis on educational provision to schools and colleges.
Endeavour is a small national charity working at grass roots level with some of England's most disadvantaged and disaffected young people. Ours is a hard working, passionate and effective organisation providing social development programmes for those youngsters getting few or no opportunities to fulfill their true potential.
Pennine Sailing Club is situated on Winscar Reservoir in the hills above Holmfirth, in the Peak District National Park, and attracts a growing membership of 200 sailors and windsurfers from the surrounding areas of Sheffield, Huddersfield, Barnsley and Glossop.
Rotherham Sailing Club is a vibrant and competitive family club sailing on Harthill reservoir, which is between Sheffield and Worksop, with easy access from both the M1 and M18 motorways. It boasts a newly refurbished clubhouse with comfortable and friendly surroundings. There is a strong youth section with help and support available to beginners and improvers of all ages

Set in Acton, Twyford Sports Centre offers a four court sports hall, activity and club room, floodlit tennis courts, netball and football areas and two group exercise studios.
The Sports Centre offers a range of activities in the sports hall including 5-a-side football, basketball, volleyball, badminton and short tennis.
Our large school and college based programme includes teaching kayaking and sailing as two of the “outdoor and adventurous activity” elements of the GCSE in Physical Education for many local schools.

Highly regarded as one of the best skateparks in the UK, Cantelowes was picked to be in the Quiksilver Bowl Rider Competition which featured just one park from countries across Europe.
Mile End is a heavily street-orientated skatepark, although there is a small swimming pool style bowl and wooden mini ramp indoors. It has several ledges spread out around the park, lots of flat land areas, manual pads and a nice hip with a ledge on top. It’s very much a good park to train your street skills up.
Far from being a museum, the Royal Tennis Court at Hampton Court Palace is the oldest tennis court in the world - and is still in use today. However, members of the public can gain admittance to see it.
The Golf Club enjoys the use of a clubhouse with terrace overlooking the first tee. The clubhouse has a full bar, plenty of seating and a full-size snooker table. The clubhouse is open the following hours:
The centre has a leisure pool which features a 40m slide and a 25m fitness pool. Plus squash and badmington courts and 5-a-side footy courts.
The Wimbledon Park Watersports Centre offers a range of activities for the whole community. All activities are run by qualified professional staff.
Our sailing boats include - Drascombe Lugger, Wayfarer, Laser 2000, RS Feva, 370 Rondar, Laser, Pico's, Topper, Taz, Optimist, Fun boats, access sailing dinghies.
