Pupil Left Alone in Dover After Passport Misunderstanding

An 11-year-old pupil from Bedford was left devastated after a long-awaited school trip to Paris goes wrong. Pupil Mohammed Aashir Zabid was left alone at Dover police station by his school Goldington Green Academy after it was discovered he didn’t have a passport.
New GCSE in Natural History Set to be Introduced

Proposals for a new GCSE in Natural History has been backed by the Department for Education (DfE) and is now set to be introduced to schools. This new qualification will let pupils explore and appreciate the natural world around them.

A 10-year-old girl was on a school trip to Putney Leisure Centre where she suffered cardiac arrest and was rushed to hospital. The Hotham Primary School pupil later died in hospital a short time later.
Avanti West Coast Offers Access to Free School Trips

Avanti West Coast has teamed up with spoken word artist, George the Poet, in launching Feel Good Field Trips for children from schools with high pupil premium rates, following the various lockdowns all over the country.
As part of the scheme, Avanti West Coast is offering free school trips to any destination on their mainline for 5,000 children aged four to 18. This will provide children with the freedom to travel after being denied it during the pandemic.
School Fined £30,000 After Taking Students on Ill-planned Mountain Hike

Gateshead Cheder school has been fined £30,000 after taking its students on a hike up Helvellyn, despite ice and snow warnings.
The school took a group of 13 teenage boys up Helvellyn in the Lake District despite ice and snow warnings. They were led by a school teacher and teaching assistant, who had no formal qualifications or experience and relied on a smartphone to get them up the mountain. Newcastle Magistrate’s Court heard some boys were in school shoes and trainers.
