Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is a new respiratory illness that has not previously been seen in humans. it belongs to a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).

This is obviously very worrying if you are embarking on a school trip abroad in the near future. 

Panic in Newport Pagnall Sevices as 6 Year-Old Student Goes Missing

Aadil Umair Rahim, a six year old student from Nottingham, went missing for nine hours at the Newport Pagnall services on Friday, January 17th. The child was on a school trip which had been to London and had stopped at the services for a comfort break. At first, it was thought the schoolboy was hiding in the service station, but when initial efforts to find him proved fruitless, the alarm was raised. 

Eccleshill School in Uproar Over Rewards Trip

St Luke's Church of England Primary School, in Eccleshill is under severe criticism from many parents over a rewards trip to Chester Zoo.

The trip was a reward for achieving 100 per cent attendance at school throughout the Autumn term, as part of the school's "HERO" attendance scheme. 100 students went on the trip, but 108 were left behind which has made for many disgruntled parents.

Graeme Bell from Cowes Enterprise College, has been found guilty of assaulting a pupil whilst on a residential trip to Corf Camp - a campsite in the Isle of Wight - in the summer of 2018.  

Nine Year Old Boy Stopped From Going on Trip due to Not Meeting the Funding Criteria

Nine year old Ronnie Callaway-Hinks, who attends St George’s Beneficial Primary School, Portsea, has been told he cannot go on a residential trip with his classmates, as he is not a Pupil Premium (children identified as ‘disadvantaged’ and eligible for free school meals) student.

British schoolgirl assaulted on school trip to Iceland

A viral video shows a black girl being assaulted by a white woman in a corridor.

Police in Iceland are investigating after a British schoolgirl was slapped and chased by a tour guide in a hotel corridor.

The schoolgirl, 13, who attended Harris Girls’ Academy, was assaulted whilst on a school trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. The incident occurred at Hotel Örk, Hveragerdi on 13th October.
