Missing “Vulnerable” Student Found Safe and Well After Frantic School Trip Search

Damian De Oliveira, 13, was on a school trip to Moors Valley Country Park near Ashley Heath, Dorset, when he disappeared at around 3.30pm on June 11th.

An alarm was raised when Damian, wearing orange ear defenders, a blue waterproof jacket, dark jogging bottoms and light blue lace up shoes with white soles had become separated from the rest of the group.

Officers searched the 1,000-acre wooded park and enlisted the help of countryside wardens as well as a police helicopter.

Fortunately, Damian was found "safe and well" in the nearby Christchurch area, shortly after 8pm.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers searching for missing teenage boy Damian De Oliveira are very pleased to confirm he has been found safe and well.

The 13-year-old had gone missing from Moors Valley Country Park near Ashley Heath at around 3.30pm today, Tuesday 11 June 2019.

We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal as well as Dorset Search and Rescue (DorSAR) and others who assisted with searches.”
