Guru Nanak Sikh Museum

The museum opened in 1992 houses paintings on Sikh history ranging from portraits of the Sikh Gurus, the Sikh scholars, paintings relating to Sikh rule in the Panjab in the 19th Century and the persecution of the Sikhs.

Visitors have the privilege to view the models of The Golden Temple (Amritsar), Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Nanak the founder of Sikhism and other five distinguished Sikh Shrines in different parts of India known as Takhats.

A selection of photographs, Panjabi handcraft (Phulkaris), ancient Sikh coins, and hand-written manuscript are on display.

Interactive activities such as trying Punjabi clothes, Turban Tying, making Chapaties, playing musical instruments and Panjabi Language workshops were arranged for the school children which were acknowledged by the visitors as a long lasting learning experience.

The Guru Nanak Sikh Museum is open to visitors on Thursdays from 1.00pm - 4.00pm, Saturdays from 7.00pm - 8.30pm.
