Jane Austen Centre

Jane Austen Centre

We are a small museum chronicling the life and times of the famous writer, Jane Austen, plus Regency tearoom.

Our Jane Austen experience begins with a warm welcome and introductory talk from one of our knowledgeable and experienced guides. The introduction takes place on the first floor of this attractive Georgian town house, in a classically decorated period room.

Following the talk your group is shown to our exhibition where their visit continues, unguided, at their own pace and finishes in our well-stocked giftshop. If there are any questions on Jane Austen or Bath our guides, who are always close at hand, will be very happy to answer them.

You may then like to enjoy some refreshments in our lovely Regency Tea Rooms on the second floor. Serving real leaf tea, home made cakes and light snacks. The Tea Room Manager and her friendly team will be delighted to welcome you.

Tours

There is nothing that our specialist walking tour guides like better than to show off our beautiful Georgian city to interested visitors. Let us take you to places mentioned in Jane Austen’s letters and her novels, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. Perhaps a more general history of Bath is required; whatever your group’s wishes we have the tour for you. With our private walks you can specify the focus, time and duration of the tour to suit your group and schedule.

Please be aware that we can only arrange group visits for 12 or more persons.
