Beacon Park

Beacon Park

More than 70 acres of beautiful gardens and open space

Beacon Park is set in more than 70 acres of beautiful gardens and open space.

Museum Gardens is the formal part of the park. With its stunning floral displays and avenue of trees, along with the centrepiece fountain, statues of Captain Smith of the Titanic, King Edward VII, and Erasmus Darwin, it is a must-see on your visit.

Beacon Park also has several play areas, crazy and proper golf, plus a shiny new skatepark, pond dipping, kids' mission trail and loads of sporting facilities. Oh, and a park!

These sections are packed full of treats from the wooden fort and pirate ship to the play train and climbing wall, with loads more besides. Features for tiny types include the toddler swings and slide plus the big sandpit!

There’s also a cool new skate park recently opened here, suitable for kids with their own gear (including helmets please!) to show off their skateboarding, BMX, scooter and skate skills.

Plus you can get cunning with some crazy golf, or take it more seriously if you’ve got that type along and have a crack at the proper 18 hole pitch and putt: it’s par 3 so don’t be frightened!

While the Discovery Hub may sound like the central place to go for information, it’s actually the less public sounding Ranger Station that you’ll need to visit to get duck feed, a Leisure Activity Passport, hire sports equipment or a pond dipping tray, pay for tennis and golf. You can also pick up a map of The Swinfen Broun Trail here (with crayon!): a great activity that guides you through the park solving secret missions and collecting brass rubbings, as you go!

There are also facilities here for football, tennis, table tennis and netball. I think we can safely say you are not going to run out of things to do in Beacon Park!
