Pallant House
Pallant House
Pallant House Gallery is home to one of the best collections of Modern British art in the UK, with works by Henry Moore, Walter Sickert, Ben Nicholson, Eduardo Paolozzi and Peter Blake.
The core of this ‘collection of collections' is Modern British art but other artworks figure such at the Bow Porcelain of the Geoffrey Freeman Collection. Each group of works has been formed by different collectors and different impulses and lends its own character to the collection, making the experience of Pallant House Gallery engaging, insightful and unique.
Schools
Pallant House Gallery works directly with teachers and schools to provide learning resources, teachers' tours, and tailor-made school visits to encourage engagement and enhance the learning experience for students and pupils.
The Gallery has also developed collaborative projects with many local schools which often provide an opportunity for students to showcase their own practical work in the Gallery's spaces.
We are currently marking the Centenary of World War I with Stanley Spencer: Heaven in a Hell of War (until 15 June 2014), and Collection exhibitions focusing on art and war in Rooms 4 and 7. We have produced aSchools Resource Pack looking at Spencer and the impact of the war on art more generally.
