The Park is home to more than 80 species of animals from around Africa - including the fastest mammal, the tallest mammal and the biggest bird in the world!

The park offers the ideal field visit for a variety of schemes of work including Africa, Animals and Habitats, Science in the Workplace or just a great spot for an end of term treat! With over 80 species from the African continent, indoor and outdoor play areas, Interactive Discovery Sessions, Safari Roadtrain, free ‘Passport Challenge’ trail, Farmyard Corner, Discovery Centre and animal feeding talks - there is plenty for everyone to see and do!
Africa Alive! has a comprehensive education programme covering all ages and abilities. Curriculum-linked ‘Discovery Sessions’ offer the chance to bring the wonders of the natural world to life, with animal handling and the chance to see amazing animal bio-facts.
There is a choice of sessions linked to Early Years, Key Stage 1 – 4, GCSE and Further Education learning goals, with corresponding education packs. Topics include ‘Animals and their homes, ‘Dinnertime’ and ‘Science and the Workplace’ as well as brand new Early Years sessions. Sessions can also be tailored for individual needs – so please feel free to contact a member of the education team to discuss your requirements.
