Arlington Court and the National Trust Carriage Museum
The eclectic collection at Arlington Court tells the story of a family who lived on the estate for more than 600-years. Discover for yourself the museum-like hoard amassed by Miss Rosalie Chichester, during her 84-years living at Arlington.
An intimate and fascinating Regency house set in an extensive estate.
Full of collections for every taste, many of them amassed by the eccentric and widely travelled Miss Rosalie Chichester, they include displays of model ships, costume, pewter, shells and other fascinating objects.
Arlington's grounds include a formal Victorian garden, a restored walled kitchen garden and acres of informal grounds featuring spectacular spring bulbs and year round colour.
The site is also home to the National Trust Carriage Museum, boasting over 45 carriages for every occassion.
Miss Chichester was passionate about all creatures great and small. The modern estate reflects this with Jacob sheep, Red Devon Cattle and Shetland ponies. The collection reflects her fascination with nature in every form.
