Bancroft Cruisers

Bancroft Cruisers

Schools and colleges from around the world use Bancroft Cruisers to give their students a new perspective on the history of Will Shakespeare and his home-town, Stratford upon Avon.

Our onboard guides provide an engaging and informative commentary that touches on the history of Stratford; the development and management of rivers and canals; the life, times and works of William Shakespeare and other notable figures; local architecture; and the wide and varied wildlife along the banks of the River Avon.

On the Rita Ellen we have tables and chairs that can be used as workstations. We also offer a number of information sheets and quizzes that can be used during the cruise and after. If you want to get closer to the river, or have a large group, our open-sided traditional cruiser, the Princess Marina, accommodates up to 56 passengers. For a total capacity of up to 100 passengers both boats can be booked together.

The commentary is live so headphones are not required. The commentary can be delivered in bite-sized pieces to allow teachers time to translate if required.
