Bede's World
Bede's World
The Museum of Early Medieval Northumbria at Jarrow. Looks at the life and times of the Venerable Bede (AD 673-735,) one of the greatest scholars of his age.
Bede’s World is an ideal attraction for a group day out. Bespoke tours can be arranged on request and there are literally acres of space out on our farm for activities - or a peaceful time to allow your group to explore for themselves.
The museum and farm are highly accessible, and we can accommodate a full group visit with our attraction, gift shop and cafe all being on the same site. Our café can create bespoke meals and offer group discounts for pre-booked visits. We can also cater for those with dietary requirements.
Education
We deliver taught visits on site to outreach and assemblies in schools across North East England.
Bede's World is very popular with schools both locally and nationally. All school visits are fully taught by a member of our education team. Through our questions and answers, our bank of objects for hire and the opportunity to dress up as a monk - the year 700 AD will be brought to life for your class.
Tours
We can also provide a guide, free of charge, for groups of 15 or more who pre-book their trip. This is subject to the availablilty of the guides so please check with us beforehand. This ensures that you and your visitors get the most out of a visit to our museum and farm. We can even tailor the guided tour to your needs.
