Brighton Buddhist Centre
Brighton Buddhist Centre
The Brighton Buddhist Centre has been welcoming educational and community groups for many years. Our sessions are popular with schools in Brighton and Sussex many of whom visit regularly, so please book well in advance to avoid disappointment. We have full disabled access.
Visits can be tailored to your needs. A typical school visit, lasting about ninety minutes, will include an introduction to the Centre; the Buddha’s life and teachings; story-telling, with puppets for the younger children; and time for drawing of the shrine (please bring workbooks!). There will also be an opportunity to experience meditation through relaxation and stilling exercises. These are non-religious in their content; the team is careful to respect other faiths and visitors will not be asked to engage in any ritual activity.
You are welcome to visit the Centre beforehand to prepare for your visit and we may be able to help with learning resources for your group.
