Broxburn Community Museum
Broxburn Community Museum
Visit the museum to see and hear stories of old Uphall and Broxburn in our "Strathbrock Stories" display between May and September. We show two temporary exhibitions during the rest of the year. The museum is situated in the Broxburn Library.
The permanent exhibition at Broxburn Community Museum, Strathbrock Stories, runs for six months every year. The exhibition tells the story of the area through its geology and landscape and highlights the heyday of the shale oil industry in the area. Local residents tell their own stories on the listening post. At other times the museum hosts displays from West Lothian Council’s touring exhibition programme.
