Buxton Museum and Art Gallery

Discover the geology, archaeology and history of the Peak District through seven time zones, experience the Wonders of the Peak Time Tunnel and step into a Victorian scientists study in the Buxton Museum.

Education sessions in the museum

Schools and other groups for children and young people are welcome to visit us and there are lots of activities to take part in such as Time Detectives, Everyday Romans, Art Explorers and Arresting Solutions.

These activities can be delivered to Key Stage 1, 2, and 3.

Children learn by handling real objects, observation, recording, and drawing, working in pairs, groups and as a class. Booking is essential, and there is a small charge
