Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park
Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park
Set in over 28 acres of spectacular, sub tropical gardens within the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, has been giving great enjoyment to its customers for 27 years.
The Park is an independently family run business that relies solely on the income from its customers to look after its animals, maintain the beauty of the park and make improvements every year.
Our aim is to give our customers a wonderful experience, surrounded by natural beauty, gorgeous animals, dinosaurs and lots of fun and enjoyment.
ith a daily schedule of Free Shows, talks, encounters and a number of ‘Animal Experiences’ to enjoy, we encourage close interaction with our knowledgeable keepers and some truly magnificent animals.
The park which aims for ‘more animals less cages’ has a genuine passion for encouraging a respect for the natural world. As well as lions, wolves, sea lions, otters, monkeys, wallabies, exotic birds and more, we are well known for our impressive life sized animatronic dinosaurs!
Education and Conservation
We have already improved education around the park through new signage that aims to teach customers more about the animals we have, their life in the wild, as well as giving information on their conservation status.
Our existing daily talk and presentation programme has been expanded and improved, all of which aim to be interesting, educational and conservation based. We aim for every visitor to go away having learned something new about one of the amazing animals we share our planet with!
We also support EAZA (European Association of Zoos and Aquariums) and BIAZA’s (British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums) conservation campaigns through fund raising, educational signage and mini conservation talks at the end of other presentations. This year we have supported the Southeast Asia Campaign.
An education programme of interactive and fun work sheets that are tailored to fit with the national curriculum and key stages 1-3 have been drawn up and designed and school groups can book in for relevant ‘lesson’ sessions with our education officer. We have 3 worksheets available:
Adaptations, Habitats, Skeletons and Dinosaurs
A 30 Minute personal animal handling session is also available.
