Exeter Cathedral
Exeter Cathedral
Welcome to Exeter Cathedral, one of the great cathedrals of England, and one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture anywhere. This is a very exciting time in the life of the Cathedral; a time of development and change as we work hard to improve facilities and the experience people have when they visit.
In our work to improve our facilities, we have been wonderfully supported by HRH The Prince of Wales. Iconic and beautiful as it is, the Cathedral is not a museum. Though we are stewards of a significant part of the heritage of Exeter, we are most importantly a living community of faith, working to ensure that everyone who walks through the doors is inspired, engaged and moved by their experience.
We hope you too will be inspired to visit Exeter Cathedral and share the experience with all those across the centuries who have discovered what it is that make Exeter Cathedral a very special place.
Schools
We welcome school visits throughout the year and offer a variety of options to make each visit enriching and memorable. The Cathedral is a wonderful resource for the study of nearly every subject especially RE, History and Art. We can tailor visits to suit age group and desired learning outcomes.
We offer a programme of themed opportunities, general guided tours and self-led visits. We can also offer lunchrooms and the opportunity to learn about other aspects of the Cathedral e.g. the Library and Archive and Music.
