FSC Millport

FSC Millport

Discover amazing island scenery, brilliant wildlife and quality teaching at FSC Millport. Millport offers residential and day field trips for all ages, linked to Curriculum for Excellence or all the England and Wales exam boards. All our courses are tailored to your requirements and our experienced staff will work with you to develop a course to suit you and your students.

Courses can be fully educational to meet particular subject requirements or entirely cross curricular, enjoying activities like watersports, cycling and team building.

FSC Millport has an amazing location with stunning views, fascinating marine wildlife and a well-equipped field centre to accommodate visitors. It is also on one of Scotland’s most accessible islands; the ferry takes just 8 minutes and it is an hour away from Glasgow yet it feels like you have travelled much further.

Courses are all created by our experienced field teachers and link explicitly to the requirements of Curriculum for Excellence including the four capacities. Teachers can relax safe in the knowledge that our highly trained staff will lead their pupils throughout their visit and ensure activities are fun and engaging while also developing their knowledge and understanding, skills and attributes.

FSC is an organisation with over 70 years experience.  It operates a network of centres across the UK, including a second in Scotland; FSC Kindrogan.

All our courses can be tailored to best suit your group and everything is designed to meet current Curriculum for Excellence requirements.  The summaries below are a selection of the types of activities, please visit the website or contact us for more information.

For primary groups we have a wide range of activities to help with teambuilding, developing confidence, learning about the environment and the chance to link to John Muir.  Discover the tourist town of Millport and why it is popular, see the local history of the island, take boat or cycle trips around the island or visit the on-site aquarium to learn more about sea life.

At S1-S3 students can explore the exciting new environment of Millport with orienteering, team challenges, water sports or bushcraft.  There are also clear links in our sessions to Curriculum for Excellence and work back in the classroom including through social studies, sciences and health and wellbeing.
