Gauntlet Birds of Prey, Eagle & Vulture Park is the largest zoo of its kind in Cheshire and the North West.

We specialise in education, conservation, protection and we have an excellent Bird of Prey breeding scheme.

Gauntlet Birds of Prey, Eagle & Vulture Park welcomes schools, colleges and groups to come and visit all year.

Gauntlet opened in 1996 and our team has educated 1000's of children about the importance of animals and the conservation of them.
We have over 120 birds of prey ranging from some of the worlds smallest owls to the largest eagles. As well as the birds we also have goats, ferrets and other activities. 

Gauntlet is suitable for all ages and abilities.

      Your day at Gauntlet:
      * An introduction into birds of prey.
      * A tour of the park and all the aviaries.
      * A one-hour private flying and handling demonstration with group participation.
      * Lunch (To be brought by the group).
      * Passport trail.
      * Art and craft time or activity sheet. (provided by Gauntlet).
      * Photography time for older groups, goat handling for younger groups.
      * Questions and answers session.

Depending on the age of the group the above activities may vary slightly.

Gauntlet's friendly staff will be with you for the whole day making sure it runs smoothly and your group has an amazing, unforgettable experience.

We have a gift shop where the children can buy a memento of their day.

Curriculum
Gauntlet is continually developing its educational programme and we look to incorporate all aspects of the teaching curriculum.
We cover all the relevant topics whilst making it educational, fun and enjoyable.

      * The 5 senses and how birds use them.
      * Flight and bird formation.
