Gheluvelt Park

Gheluvelt Park

A great park with a formal area, plus a wildlife conservation area. It also has a brook, duckpond, bandstand, and playgrounds with separate areas for different ages. Splashpad for kids in the summer. Free to visit.

It straddles Barbourne brook, plus it is close the river Severn, so there is plenty of wildlife to look out for including kingfishers, mute swans, grey squirrels and more. There is also a large pond with a number of ducks to feed.

The playground is great because it has separate areas for different age groups, which means the little ones can play at their own pace, and the older kids can be adventurous without having to worry about hurting the youngsters. It uses the latest floor surfaces and play technology, which gives kids a 21st century play experience! There is plenty of seating, plus a gazebo near the playground to enable adults to keep an eye on the kids while they play.

A splashpad is open daily from April to September, which is very popular with the little ones, with a number of sprinklers and streams to run through.

The park is also great for a family stroll, and you can even bring well behaved family dogs, but they will need to be kept on the lead and as usual, you will have to clean up after them, but bins are provided.
