Hampton Court Palace
Hampton Court Palace
With its 500 years of royal history Hampton Court Palace has something to offer everyone. Set in sixty acres of world famous gardens the Palace is a living tapestry of history from Henry VIII to George II.
From the elegance of the recently restored eighteenth century Privy Garden to the domestic reality of the Tudor Kitchens visitors are taken back through the centuries to experience the Palace as it was when royalty was in residence.
Don't miss the Great Hall, an exhibition about the Living Tudors, Henry VIII's kitchens, William III's apartments, the newly opened Chocolate Kitchen and the world's oldest Tennis Court.
And not forgetting the world famous maze.
Guided Tours
Historical drama, staff talks and our audio guides are all available – and are included in your palace admission ticket.
Everyday throughout the year, our costumed interpreters take visitors around the palace and give dramatic presentations of a living Tudor world; the historic events that happened at Hampton Court. You might meet Henry VIII himself or join his courtiers as they speculate on which lady has caught the royal eye this time.
Or you could experience life under the Glorious Georges, specifically King George I and his son the Prince of Wales, the future George II. Whose side are you on?
During school holidays, bank holidays, selected weekends, Christmas and Easter additional activities may include the Tudor cooks in Henry VIII's Kitchens preparing a feast, etiquette lessons, falconry displays, Fool Shows, the chance to tilt at the quintain (beginner jousting) and dancing – subject to the time of year.
