Hawk Conservancy Trust
The Trust is an award winning visitor attraction and registered charity dedicated to the conservation of birds of prey. We work with many organisations and conservation groups across the world to deliver conservation programmes, education projects and to generate environmental awareness for the benefit of birds of prey and their habitats.
From our spectacular daily flying demonstrations, which take place in three different flying arenas, and introduce you to different species of birds of prey, to walks in our magnificent wildflower meadow – we hope that you will find something in your day that will entertain, inform and inspire you.
An introduction to Birds of Prey
Raptors are one of the most successful and widely distributed bird groups in the world. Raptors are found on every continent (except Antarctica) and in virtually every habitat type on the planet.
There are currently two main groups or orders: Falconiformes (diurnal or daytime raptors) andStrigiformes (owls). Their variety is stunning, with more than 300 species of diurnal raptors and more than 200 species of owls.
