Magdalen Farm

Magdalen Farm

Experience learning in the great outdoors with Magdalen. Magdalen Farm with its diverse landscape, animals and purpose-built residential centre provides a safe and secure environment to learn about organic farming, sustainability and nature.

We work with primary and secondary schools to create tailormade educational experiences outside of the classroom that are exciting, practical, motivating and fun.

At Magdalen we aim to provide your pupils with an experience they will never forget by striking that balance between allowing children the freedom to explore and develop, yet protecting them through structured play.

We provide a menu of enjoyable yet challenging activities which can be tailored to suit your class learning objectives or requirements. These include:

  • Learning all about the animals on the farm
  • Seeing how our food grows in the fruit and vegetable gardens
  • Building shelters in the woods
  • Learning bushcraft and fire lighting skills
  • Making pizzas using our cob oven and ingredients direct from our farm
  • Maps and mapping adventures
  • Outdoor cooking on open fires
  • Re-creating history
  • Drama, arts and crafts
  • Team Building Challenges including access to a low ropes course
  • Creating environmental art and sculptures
  • Night orienteering
  • Campfires and campfire singing
  • Investigating Rivers
  • Wild Adventure Hikes
  • Creating music using recycled materials.

Our hands-on practical activities mean that topics become more vivid and interesting for children.  This helps to motivate pupils in subsquent follow-up sessions at school.

Either visit us for a day trip or residential stay; alternatively we will be happy to come to your school grounds or other outdoor spaces.
