There's so much to do at the newly refurbished Manchester Central Library:
- Join the library
- Look for, reserve, or borrow a book, DVD or audio - there are four floors of information and stories for you to explore
- Read and study
- Use a computer - there are computers throughout Central Library and it’s free to use them for one hour.
- Free wifi - you can bring your own device and get connected
- Get an e-book or audio book - there are 4,500 e-books as well as four floors of classics, new writing, reference books and the latest academic materials
- Access services if you're visually impaired - we have a range of assisted technology and software available
- Media Lounge - a state of the art digital media centre including creative software and gaming stations
- British Film Institute Mediatheque - highlights from the world’s greatest and most diverse collection of British film and television
- Children's Library - younger readers will love the bright new Children's Library with lots of space for enjoying and sharing stories where even the tiniest babies are welcome
- Business and Intellectual Property Centre - get help to start, run or grow your business
- Archives + - access regional and national collections of documents, photographs and films
- Henry Watson Music Library - unearth original treasures or compose, play and record your own music
- Discover rare books and special collections - including the Theatre Collection, the Gaskell Collection and the Broadside Ballads
- Visit the City Library - The Town Hall Extension basement has been transformed into a spacious, modern, comfortable library flooded with light
- Visit Central Library Café - a wide variety of local specialities to suit every appetite
- Host your event - exclusive spaces to suit any event from business meetings and private dinners to weddings and special events
- Buy vintage posters - available online and from the library shop
