Museum of Classical Archaeology
Museum of Classical Archaeology
Every cast tells two stories.
One ancient. One modern.
If you're looking for things to do in Cambridge, look no further than the Museum of Classical Archaeology. We're a small museum with a friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere, so why not pay us a visit?
We run regular events in our Museum for both families and adults with a special interest in the ancient world. We're part of the vibrant Faculty of Classics, so maybe you'd like to come to a lunchtime talk to find out more about how our research helps us learn more about Greek and Roman culture, history or language? Or perhaps you'd prefer a weekend story-telling or craft activity to keep the kids occupied? Check out our family activities, too, if you need to fill a Cambridge afternoon.
Keep an eye out here for details of our museum tours, run by our curator to help you find your way around the Cast Gallery. And there's no reason to visit us just the once – we host regular temporary exhibitions to keep you coming back to our Museum.
Admission is free.
Education Department
If you would like to organise a school group trip to us, perhaps in combination with one of the other University of Cambridge museums, why not just drop me a line by email or give me a ring on the phone? I'll be happy to discuss your options and make sure your visit to our Cambridge museum meets your needs.
Don't forget, you can also take the Museum back to your classroom – we have loan boxes full of objects which are really useful classroom resources. Borrowing our loan boxes or visiting the Museum is free: we don't charge for our education service.
You can stay up to date with our schools service, too, by joining our mailing list.
