Bring the world of plants to life with a tour of our interactive exhibition centre; explore the UK’s largest collection of permanent mazes – with a maze for every continent and a reward stamp if you find your way to the centre.

Take a walk on the wild side with acres of natural trails, a lakeside walk and even a tree top walk. Plantasia is truly alive with the opportunity to visit the deer park, the pigs, the sheep and spot all kinds of birds, insects and other wildlife.

Maze World 

Six themed mazes are waiting to be discovered, one from each continent.

All three of the above attractions are teacher led and can be supplemented with educational worksheets based on a variety of themes including literacy and numeracy (please enquire when booking). 
  
Discovery sessions
Guided sessions tailored to fit in with the national curriculum and in particular the QCA schemes of work. Choose from a wide selection from habitat exploration to shelter building. 
  
Price
Visits during spring and summer term cost £3.95 per child (for groups over 10). Adults on a 1:6 ratio are free. Any extra adults cost £5.25. This is an all-inclusive charge and includes a visit to Plantasia Interactive Zone, Maze World, Wild Walk, one discovery session and the use of the classroom for lunch. Lunchtime reservations are for 30 minutes and include designated storage containers for storing lunchboxes, and other belongings. 
 
Equipment loan 
Various pieces of surveying equipment may be hired from reception. These are booked out on a first come first served basis, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

  • Pond dipping: £20.00 an hour plus a refundable deposit of £80.00 
    Set includes 5 nets, 5 trays, 10 magnifying glasses, 10 bug viewers, identification sheets and instructions.
  • Minibeast hunting: £20.00 an hour plus a refundable deposit of £80.00 
    Set includes 5 trays, 10 bug viewers, 10 magnifying glasses, 1 white sheet, 10 pooters, identification sheets and instructions.
  • Surveying equipment: £20.00 an hour plus a refundable deposit of £80.00 
    Set includes, 5 hoops or quadrats, tape measures, clipboards and pencils, soil thermometers, plant identification sheets and instructions. 

Pre-Visits
Pre visits – pre visits are available for teachers and leaders. These visits take place outside of school hours (after 3pm) and must be pre arranged. It is regrettable but visits are not available during school holidays or weekends.
