Rodbaston Visitor Centre Animal Zone

Take a walk around Rodbaston Visitor Centre Animal Zone and say hello to over 750 animals, from meerkats to monkeys, rabbits to alpacas.

Our Animal Zone houses a varied collection of animals and birds from around the world. See our own Meerkat family and count their babies, watch our Red Lemurs playing outside in their enclosure and see our Wallabies, Raccoon Dogs and all the other animals, which bring animals of the world into one place.

Try and spot our Skunk, chat to our Parrots and see our collection of exotic fish in our Aquatics Room.

There are Meet the Keeper sessions, which take place every day, giving you a chance to ask our staff about their jobs and the animals in our collection.

During our Animal Encounters you can hold a Rabbit, see Snakes and Lizards up close and stroke our Ponies. Encounters take place daily during school holidays and every weekend.

The Animal Zone also has an outdoor picnic and play area, indoor tea room selling a range of sandwiches, cakes and confectionery and a shop for pocket money treats. Please note some activities will be dependent upon weather conditions.

We also host birthday parties, including tractor rides, animal encounters, personal tours, and a visit from Roddy the Bear (depending on the level of party booked).
