Welcome to Living Coasts, an all weather attraction, located on Torquay seafront in South Devon, where there’s plenty to see and do: mingle with the playful penguins, get up close to the otters, octopus and seals, and much more. Visit Penguin Beach to walk with the African and macaroni penguins and catch our entertaining feeding time talks.
Below the decks the fun doesn't stop. With more fascinating habitats and creatures, there are games, activities and panoramic underwater viewing areas for our stunning species..
Open to all, our Living Coasts Café is free entry to non-visitors too, so come in anytime for family friendly, local food and drink with panoramic sea views overlooking the Bay.
Seaside Attraction
Cheeky penguins play on penguin beach, stunning seals bask on the rocks and cute otters entertain in our outside exhibits. During your day out you’ll learn all about our species and their habitats with talks from our expert keepers.
This unique winding, purpose built, multi-level site, takes you on a journey alongside the panoramic views of Torbay. Perfect for a dry or rainy day, Living Coasts houses hundreds of animal and plants for you to see and learn about.
Aviary
Our 5000m aviary houses over 300 beautiful birds swooping alongside the sea scapes of their natural habitats. You’ll see Waders, Guillemots, Puffins and Inca terns.
Aquarium
Below deck, in the magical aquarium you’ll see our intelligent octopus and deadly rays amongst the mysterious mangroves.
Our underground viewing windows allow you to see the penguins dive and glide, as well as auk feet paddling furiously beneath the water as they play in their wave machine. The pools are up to 3m deep which allows natural diving behaviours in the fresh sea water from Torbay.

A visit to Living Coasts allows your group to explore global coastal habitats and wildlife in a safe and friendly environment.
Our Education Team firmly believes in hands on, active, and outdoor learning and has designed a whole range of ideas that ensure a day out at Living Coasts is a memorable and valuable learning experience.
