Hands-on discovery sessions

Our sessions, are aimed at foundation stage, key stages 1 and 2, and a duration of two hours. They comprise of workshop led activities and exploration of the Museum's galleries. They are an ideal way to introduce a topic or reinforce class work and provide an interactive and memorable experience.

Our sessions aim to:

  • Stimulate active learning with real objects;
  • Offer elements of role play and dressing up;
  • Meet the needs of the creative curriculum;
  • Encourage pupils to develop their critical thinking and enquiry skills;
  • Provide elements of make and take;
  • Challenge and motivate staff as well as pupils;
  • Offer a reliable and flexible visit experience.

From September 2014: World War 1 sessions for KS1 and KS2

In this anniversary year, let Wycombe Museum help you commemorate World War 1 locally, with a programme of activities, resources and events for schools. Using our 'Wycombe in World War 1' exhibition as a starting point there will be new sessions for KS1 and KS2, new "Objects To Go" boxes and trails.
