Over 720 species including some of the world’s most impressive and inspiring animals.

As visitors walk around the Zoo’s 36 acre site, they are brought closer to nature with walk through sections to explore.

In recent years new exhibits, such as Tiger Territory, Penguin Beach, Animal Adventure (our new children’s zoo), Giants of the Galapagos, Butterfly Paradise, Meet the Monkeys, Rainforest Life, Gorilla Kingdom and the Blackburn Pavilion, show how ZSL creates realistic environments to house some of the world’s most impressive and inspiring animals.

Daily live animal shows include MegaBugs,Tigers and Penguins.

Their newest addition is is a 15-year-old western lowland silverback gorilla, Kumbuka!

Information from Venue: 

DId you know? The Duke of Wellington, Arthur Wellesley, was the founder of London Zoo. As Constable of the Tower of London he relocated the over 200 animals, which for many years had formed the Menagerie there, to Regent's Park. Wellington was also a founder member of the Zoological Society.
