Awarded by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom, the LOtC Quality Badge is a national award combining the essential elements of provision – learning and safety – into ONE easily recognisable and trusted accreditation scheme for ALL types of Learning Outside the Classroom provider organisation. The LOtC Site Provider Award

The LOtC Site Provider Award is intended to recognise those organisations which actively welcome schools onto their sites and ensure that those sites and any other services provided meet the needs of schools. The LOtC Resource Provider Award is intended to recognise those organisations that provide products and services which genuinely assist teachers in delivering LOtC, and work with users to ensure that this is the case. For Schools

The LOtC Mark is the first national accreditation for schools which recognises and supports the development of Learning Outside the Classroom across all subject areas. Comprising of three levels, the LOtC Mark is intended not only to recognise existing exemplary provision, but also to assist and support schools in developing their LOtC offer. At Adamson Adventures our aim is to provide exciting outdoor experiences tailored to all ages and abilities in an environmentally friendly way. We are able to provide you with experience sessions, organised trips (UK, Europe and worldwide) and courses leading to certain qualifications.

The Centre can offer opportunities to both organised groups and individuals alike. The Marine Activities Centre is licensed by the Adventurous Activities Licensing Service to deliver the activities, is a Recognised Training Centre for the Royal Yachting Association. 

The Centre now holds the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge and the AAIAC Adventure Mark.

The Hollowford Centre, which is open all year round, is set on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Castleton, Derbyshire in the heart of the Peak District National Park.

 

Harlyn Surf School was set up by Chris  Rea in 1994 with the help of a PYBT loan.

We offer training in a wide variety of disciplines, using a diverse fleet of modern equipment.

At Grafham Water Centre we have been providing high quality learning outside the classroom activities for more than 40 years.

Come and enjoy the fabulous facilities at The Lensbury Watersports Centre  – a peaceful haven in an otherwise busy world. The Lensbury Watersports Centre offers a variety of craft including sculling boats, kayaks, canoes and a choice of sailing dinghies from Optimists to Lasers plus small motor boats.

We have been giving tuition in windsurfing and kitesurfing in our watersports school in Poole harbour for over 20 Years. It operates in the shallow waters of Poole Harbour - one of the most popular places to learn windsurfing and kitesurfing in the UK. All our windsurfing instructors have been trained to RYA standards and IKO standards.

Pleasley Vale is affectionately known as ‘little Matlock’ to local outdoor enthusiasts. Set in the impressive grounds of Pleasley Vale Mill Complex the centre provides the perfect opportunity for groups and individuals to experience the spirit of adventure without having to travel or pay the high costs associated with more traditional locations such as the Peak District.

We are experienced in dealing with big school and scout groups and offer great discounts.

It offers a variety of facilities to provide opportunities for indoor and outdoor activities ranging from a Rainbow Day to Senior Section camping. Although close to local amenities, Pettypool is secluded enough to be a safe attractive environment for all who use it.

British schoolgirl assaulted on school trip to Iceland

A viral video shows a black girl being assaulted by a white woman in a corridor.

Police in Iceland are investigating after a British schoolgirl was slapped and chased by a tour guide in a hotel corridor.

The schoolgirl, 13, who attended Harris Girls’ Academy, was assaulted whilst on a school trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. The incident occurred at Hotel Örk, Hveragerdi on 13th October.
