Free Education Open Evening at the Galleries of Justice

The National Centre for Citizenship and Law (NCCL) are hosting a FREE Education Open Evening on Wednesday 21st September 2016. Running from 4:15-6:15pm at the Galleries of Justice Museum Nottingham, the event is designed to showcase the exciting opportunities and experience on offer at the site. All educators, including support staff, lecturers and teachers are invited to come along and see if the Galleries of Justice would suit their pupils and their plans for the coming academic year.

Explore the museum and discover how it can support and inform aspects of the curriculum through interactive activities, preview tours and exclusive insights. The Galleries are a fascinating historical site and with the new additions, resources and teams on offer, it can provide an inspiring catalyst to learning. The site can inform and supplement history, citizenship, PSHE, SMSC and British Values amongst many others.

In addition to exploring the site there will be a series of key speakers. Talks include details of the redevelopment delivered by the Senior Curator and Learning Team, with an opportunity for questions. In addition to learning about the exciting innovations being championed at the site, the evening will offer an opportunity to network, share best practice and ideas.

The museum is located in the Lace Market area of Nottingham City Centre, close to Broadmarsh Intu Shopping Centre (Galleries of Justice Museum, Lace Market, Nottingham NG1 1HN).

There will be goody bags and refreshments FREE within the evening. Booking in advance is required.

British schoolgirl assaulted on school trip to Iceland

Police in Iceland are investigating after a British schoolgirl was slapped and chased by a tour guide in a hotel corridor.

The schoolgirl, 13, who attended Harris Girls’ Academy, was assaulted whilst on a school trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. The incident occurred at Hotel Örk, Hveragerdi on 13th October.
