Craigencalt Ecology Centre
Craigencalt Ecology Centre
Situated in gently rolling hills overlooking Kinghorn Loch in Fife, Craigencalt Ecology Centre was established in 1998 to give people a direct experience of the natural environment.
We have a wide range of facilities both indoors and outside including teaching/workshop space, a herb garden, a pond and marsh area, the Community Woodland, the "What on Earth" demonstration area that shows how we can decrease our impact on the planet, a Faerie trail which involves searching for the mythical creatures around the site, as well as Earthship Fife which is a demonstration of a sustainable building run by Sustainable Communities Initiatives.
The Ecology Centre is a community orientated project at heart and we offer specifically tailored packages to a wide range of groups. We specialise in Environmental Education for schoolchildren through half or whole day packages.
We also work with youth groups and a range of adult volunteers with varying levels of ability. For business and other organisations we provide team-building days and motivational experiences which enhance commitment and creativity.
We also offer talks and tours to groups which may be booked in advance, or you are welcome to simply come and have a look around. We have a range of events and activities, particularly during the school holidays.
