Reading Climbing Centre

A superb climbing facility just outside Reading town centre. We cater for children and families from 5 years and up. Our key sessions include Birthday Parties, Kids’ Casual Sessions and our Kids’ progressive Climbing Scheme.

Our progressive climbing scheme (NICAS) is the only nationally recognised scheme that introduces new climbers to climbing on artificial climbing walls. The scheme focuses on skill development and safety as well as climbing ability, and is split into 5 award levels. NICAS is open to climbers of all ages and abilities, as it covers all aspects from the absolute basics to advanced climbing techniques.

Reading Climbing Centre is the ideal setting for fun and exciting school trips or group visits. There is a huge variety of sessions available for young people aged 5 and upwards. Climbing is a great way to develop fitness, teamwork and communication skills in an enjoyable and exhilarating environment.

Climbing is Tailored to Suit You!

We are here to help you tailor activities to your needs, from a one-off climbing and abseiling session, to a structured programme running over a series of weeks or months. RCC can cater for GCSE and A Level syllabuses if required, and can supplement regular indoor sessions with outdoor trips in the summer months. Sessions can be run for groups as small as five up to as many as 90 climbers. Sessions are all fully supervised by qualified instructors, ensuring that each child receives the encouragement and attention they require. All equipment hire is included in any booking with Reading Climbing Centre.

Climbing is Inclusive!

The instructing staff at Reading Climbing Centre are trained to work well with a wide range of groups including those with learning or behavioural difficulties, and those with a wide range of physical disabilities.
