Birmingham Town Hall & Symphony Hall

Birmingham Town Hall & Symphony Hall

Town Hall & Symphony Hall believe that music has the power to transform and change lives, to entertain and uplift, to create shared experiences and to educate. We connect people to music through a dynamic and varied concert and education programme at our two world-renowned concert halls – managed jointly by the registered charity Performances Birmingham Limited – and in the wider community.

Every year we welcome over 500,000 people to around 800 concerts and events with a further 18,000 people of all ages enjoying, participating in and learning more about music through our Education & Community programme. By bringing the best musicians and performers in the world to Birmingham, we underpin the city’s international reputation. We are also major players in the city’s cultural and civic life, and a significant contributor to the local economy.

Come and discover our world class buildings by joining a venue tour.

Public Tours – Individuals (or small groups)

Places on our monthly public tours of Town Hall and Symphony Hall can be booked through our Box Office. You’ll be given an introduction to the building and taken on a backstage tour.

Group Tours

For larger groups (including schools, colleges and universities) why not book a private group tour? All tours include an overview of the building, its history, performances and backstage areas. We are currently offering the below:

Technical Tour (Symphony Hall only)
Our technicians will show you around the Symphony Hall auditorium and backstage area. Learn about the hall’s world-famous acoustics and technical capability, see demonstrations and gain exclusive access to our lighting and sound controls.

Tour & Tunes (either venue)
Join us for an extended tour of Town Hall or Symphony Hall which will include exclusive access to behind-the-scenes areas and an in-depth exploration of the organ. Subject to their availability, our organ scholar can be on hand to demonstrate how the organ works and play musical excerpts.
