SWEP: Newquay Zoo
With over 130 species, Newquay Zoo is an exciting and inspirational place for all ages to learn more about the world's wonderful biodiversity.
Clear signage across the site provides information about our plants, animals, conservation projects and environmental practices, while a choice of trails and activity packs can give a topic focus to your visit. We also run a number of clubs, experiences and events throughout the year.
Our friendly education team can provide specially tailored workshops to suit your class’ needs, catering for pre-school up to FE groups. Workshops provide a stimulating, cross curricular programme, linked to National Curriculum objectives.
Live animals, artefacts, puppets and photographs are some of the ways our education team engage your pupils and enliven our presentations. Our team of qualified teachers have been around the world and even back in time to give your pupils an entertaining educational visit.
Children at Newquay Zoo booking in on the Junior Keeper experience day or taking part in our family activity trails can claim these ‘learning hours’ towards a nationally recognized award and zoo staff have been along to help out with ‘graduation’ at local university colleges. Parents or teachers can find out more at the Children's university website.
