A Broadchurch walking trail has been launched along the Jurassic Coast in Dorset for fans of the TV series. The trail, launched by West Dorset District Council, will help visitors discover the settings of some of the iconic scenes which feature in the hit ITV series.
School groups can visit locations filmed around West Bay and walk in the footsteps of the lead characters played by David Tennant and Olivia Colman. The opportunity to visit Broadchurch's locations will thrill devotees of the hit ITV series and give excellent opportunities for English and Drama students to learn outside the classroom.
The crime drama's creator Chris Chibnall is from the area and said the story "was written as a love letter to the scenery of the Jurassic Coast".
The trail mainly focuses on the Broadchurch locations in West Bay - but also encourages visitors to explore more of West Dorset and visit locations used in the surrounding area.
Rachel Symes, West Dorset District Council senior tourism marketing officer, said: "With over 6 million viewers every week, Broadchurch has provided Dorset with a unique opportunity to showcase the fantastic Jurassic coastline and gain national and international media coverage. The series has generated a large amount of interest in the area and this trail provides visitors with all they need to discover the stunning backdrop to the drama. We are looking forward to welcoming the cast and crew back for a third series."
