Celtic Harmony Camp
Celtic Harmony Camp
Bring the new National Curriculum to life with a trip to Celtic Harmony Camp!
The new history curriculum for KS2 calls for the study of prehistory from Stone Age to Iron Age and a focus on local history in KS1.
As part of the New National Curriculum, schools are teaching about the changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age and the curriculum states that this could include:
- late Neolithic hunter-gatherers and early farmers
- Bronze Age religion, technology and travel, for example Stone Henge
- Iron Age Hill forts, tribal kingdoms, farming, art and culture
We have 15 years experience in hands on learning outside the classroom at our Iron Age Settlement near Hertford.
Since 1998 we have been offering pupils the chance to experience life in pre-Roman Britain and are acknowledged experts in heritage education. Take a look at the video of how one year 3 group stepped back into Iron Age Britain.
"Target the small and local if you want to find fulfilling places to visit with your pupils,"says Hannah Frankel in the Times Educational Supplement, and provides Celtic Harmony Camp as an example: "Pupils will find themselves weaving, spinning, grinding grain, making bread, hunter-gathering and trading at this Iron Age Village."
