Thursday 1st November 2018: Outdoor Classroom Day

Outdoor Classroom Day is a global campaign that sets out to celebrate and inspire outdoor learning and play. In 2017, over 2 million children in schools all around the world took part by having lessons outdoors and prioritising playtime.

The campaign sets out to encourage outdoor learning in an effort to improve children’s health, engage them with learning and lead them to a greater connection with nature. Their play time not only teaches them critical life skills such as resilience, teamwork and creativity, but is central to their overall enjoyment of childhood.

If you are a teacher that is new to outdoor learning, Outdoor Classroom Day is the perfect opportunity to try it out. If you are a parent and want to get involved, talk to your child’s school about the importance of outdoor learning and encourage them to take part on November 1st 2018!
