Beaney Art Museum and Library

Beaney Art Museum and Library

The Beaney is an Art Museum and Library situated in the heart of the historic city of Canterbury. This fabulous new facility provides state of the art exhibition galleries, a brand new library, excellent learning facilities and a varied programme of events and activities for all ages.

Our vision is to enable individuals to explore, learn, participate and create through inspirational artefacts and works of art.

The Beaney offers a wide range of creative learning activities and self-guided visits; from Early Years and KS1-5 school visits, to workshops for students and adult learners.

Whether you are investigating the Ancient Egyptians or Ancient Greeks, exploring art and sculpture or discovering some incredible collections and stories from around the globe, the Beaney brings subjects to life as part of a rich, cross-curricular experience.

Our interpreter-led workshops give participants the opportunity to handle real artefacts and develop a range of investigative, enquiry-based learning skills.
