Canterbury

Canterbury is a historic cathedral city and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is situated at the heart of the city. The River Stour runs right through the city. Canterbury is consistently one of the most-visited cities in the United Kingdom and the city's economy is heavily reliant upon tourism. Canterbury Cathedral is one of the most famous in the world and is the seat of the highest rank Archibishop in the Church of England as well as the site of the infamous murder of Thomas A Beckett. The city's other most famous resident is one Geoffrey Chaucer, author of the Canterbury Tales, which has spawned an industry in medieval-themed guided walks and venues. The surrounding Kent countryside is full of beautiful walks and has many venues dedicated to the history of the RAF in the Second World War. Other towns in the area include Dover, featuring the incredible Dover Castle, and Folkestone. Around the coast ar to be found a host of Martello Towers, built to prevent a French invasion by Napoleonic forces circa 1800.

A viral video shows a black girl being assaulted by a white woman in a corridor.

Police in Iceland are investigating after a British schoolgirl was slapped and chased by a tour guide in a hotel corridor.

The schoolgirl, 13, who attended Harris Girls’ Academy, was assaulted whilst on a school trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. The incident occurred at Hotel Örk, Hveragerdi on 13th October.
