London Stock Exchange
London Stock Exchange
London Stock Exchange is one of the world's oldest stock exchanges and can trace its history back more than 300 years. Starting life in the coffee houses of 17th century London, London Stock Exchange quickly grew to become the City’s most important financial institution. Over the centuries following, London Stock Exchange has consistently led the way in developing a strong, well-regulated stock market and today lies at the heart of the global financial community.
We are proud of our long history that has helped to build our reputation today.
The programmes offered by the Stock Exchange Academy represent an opportunity to develop financial, legal, strategic, organisational and managerial skills.
Training can be delivered face to face and online, on the Academy e-learning platform, and can be tailored to suit companies and individuals.
Face to face formats include: open enrolment courses, in house courses, seminars and education for universities, colleges and schools.
Online training includes self-learning courses and classroom-integrated “collaborative” formats, where face to face dynamics are reproduced remotely.
Our Inside the Markets programme has been designed to provide students and business delegates with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the capital markets.
Using live market feeds and recent case studies, the programme is deliberately interactive in nature and facilitates active discussion on key topics in the world of finance today.
Whether your group has previous knowledge of the financial markets, or are investigating this sector for the first time, Inside the Markets can be tailored specifically to meet your needs.
Who benefits from ‘Inside the Markets’?

Secondary Schools and Sixth Form Colleges
Inside the Markets seeks to bring the financial markets to life, supporting academic learning where students have prior knowledge of the world of finance, and breaking down some of the myths for those who may not have been exposed to the sector previously.
Designed specifically to take into account the experiences and learning stage of your group, your session will include the use of live market data and interactive discussions on topics such as:
- Why do companies float on a Stock Exchange?
- How shares are traded
- How the finance markets work, and what sort of organisations are involved
