Moffat Museum

Moffat Museum

Something for Everyone...

There are four exhibition areas on the ground floor and an outside yard where you will see agricultural tools and exhibits relevant to Moffat's railway history.

Moffat Museum, situated in Moffat’s conservation area, provides a fascinating insight into Moffat’s history; from early Roman times, the Border Reivers, the Convenanters, heyday of its coaching era, the discovery of the Well and its success as a Spa; also memorabilia pertaining to Lord Dowding of Battle of Britain fame.

Schools

'Loan Boxes' are available to school and community groups to enable the handling of artefacts. These will be made up to order and can cover a particular historic period or interest. For example - Victorian domestic life. Walking tours of the town can be arranged with sufficient notice.
