Perranzabuloe Museum in Perranporth

Perranzabuloe Museum in Perranporth

Perranzabuloue, meaning 'Perran in the sands', is one of the largest parishes in Cornwall. The biggest centre of population is Perranporth where the Museum is located. Come and see how the area has developed, from its earliest beginnings; the arrival of St Piran; the growth of fishing, farming and mining; the development and closure of the railway; to the tourist resort it has become today.

Museum

With three brand new displays and arefurbished Resources Room, Perranzabuloe Museum volunteers are looking forward to the new season when we open for Easter. Come and see our Costume Keepsakes display explaining why people saved their special costume items.

To link with the new BBC Poldark series we can tell you about the life of author Winston Graham who lived in Perranporth and wrote the first in the Poldark series at Perranporth beach. Our third display calledHoliday Histories shows photos and oral histories about the beach since the 1900's. There's more to come throughout the year so one visit is not enough.
