Reading Museum

Reading Museum

Reading Museum Service offers learning experiences that are fun and suitable for every age of student - from the serious student to the youngest child, all levels are catered for. We offer opportunities for both formal and informal learning including the chance to handle real objects.

Reading Museum & Town Hall is a fine example of Victorian gothic architecture. The museum has eleven galleries displaying a fascinating range of objects from our collections and an exciting programme of temporary exhibitions. You can find out more about what you can see and do in the What’s On and Collections areas of the website. Our Concert Hall houses the superb Father Willis Organ and plays host to a programme of events from classical music to comedy.

Schools Services

Hands-on learning for schools offers sessions based around our unique collections and a choice of over 1500 loan boxes for use in the classroom.

Handling objects is a key element in our sessions. Our flexible programme allows you to choose loan boxes, sessions, or a mixture according to your needs.

Visit our Loans Online site to browse or book loan boxes. If you haven't used the site before there are guidance notes to help you. Please scroll down to the end of the page to view them.
