River and Rowing Museum
River and Rowing Museum
The famous rowing town of Henley on Thames is home to the River and Rowing museum which has a gallery dedicated to the sport of rowing - as well as further exhibition areas for the River Thames and the town of Henley.
Visitors to our rowing gallery can see how rowing has developed from ancient times to present day Olympic events. There is a hall of fame and a collection of boats that shows developments in racing boat design and features famous crafts such as some of Steve Redgrave's Olympic Gold medal winning boats.
The River & Rowing Museum has 5 temporary exhibition spaces which means that every time you visit there should be something new to see.
Our exhibitions cover our four main themes of Rowing, Henley on Thames, Rivers and Wind in the Willows. The exhibition covers everything from historical and natural history object-based displays to contemporary art and photography shows.
The building has won awards for its architectural design.
