St Chad's Cathedral

St Chad's Cathedral

The Cathedral of St Chad offers educational visits for schools that are usually preparing for Confirmation. Visits are available every weekday morning; working around a busy Cathedral diary, in which you’re invited to tour parts of the Cathedral rarely seen by the public. You will be in the company of our very knowledgeable volunteer team of guides.

When you visit you’re welcome to attend the Mass at 12.15pm, during which the children can act as altar servers, if experienced, and to participate in the offertory procession. If you are staying for lunch after Mass you will be taken down to the Crypt – tea and coffee is provided for the adults of your group. A gift shop facility is also available if required. Arrangements can be made for your staff to manage the shop or, on certain days of the week a volunteer will be happy to help you.
