School Trips

Stonebridge City farm is like a living classroom, ideal for helping young children learn about animals and farm life. We welcome school classes, special needs groups, parents and toddler groups, Cubs and Brownies. We have great gardens, paddocks, a playground, farm shop and café. If you need a “real” classroom this is also possible.

Visits to our farm begin with the group being welcomed at the front of the building. Provision to leave bags can be made available advance notice would be welcome. The group will be given an introductory talk about the farm, along with a reminder about health and safety. The group may be split into two depending on size and one half visits the animals outside while the others sit down for animal handling. After half an hour, the groups swap over.

Other activities are available depending on how long the visit is (most visits last an hour or an hour and a half) longer visits are possible. Extra activities may include walks around the gardens, where plants, fruit and vegetables are grown, wildlife walk, or anything, which fits into the National Curriculum.
