UK Wolf Conservation Trust

UK Wolf Conservation Trust

A chance to walk with wolves and see them close up as you learn about these beautiful creatures.

There are also a number of Experience days available, including some that are specially tailored for kids. Many take place during the school holidays and more are added throughout the year.

Any walk or experience starts with a safety briefing, after which you will be introduced to the wolves and the handlers. There are volunteers on hand to answer any questions that you or the kids may have. The walks also include a “stump talk” about halfway through while the wolves take a break, where you can learn about wolves in general and information about the Trust.

Older kids may enjoy the Howl nights which are held once a month towards the end of the year.

Schools Visits

The UK Wolf Conservation Trust (UKWCT) encourages school children to come out of the classroom to interact with the natural world around them; after all they are the conservationists of tomorrow. Where better than at the UK Wolf Conservation Trust’s centre?

The UK Wolf Conservation Trust is a unique place to learn and offers:

  • • A purpose built Education Centre
  • • An exciting learning environment with the company of our ambassador wolves
  • • Clear information signs around the Trust
  • • A website full of fascinating facts, trails and activities
  • • A range of native habitats to study

A visit to the centre can help inspire a week, half or full term’s worth of work and can help bring all aspects of the curriculum to life in Science, Geography, English, Maths, Art & Design and IT.

Our experienced staff offer teaching sessions on a variety of topics. There are a wide range of options and prices. The UKWCT can accommodate groups of up to 30 and only has one school on site at a time, making the visit really special for the children and teachers. Health and safety is our top priority; visits, especially the wolf walk, are tightly controlled. See our FAQ on how the walks are conducted.

Our school activity pack contains all sorts of information about wolves, teacher’s references and interactive handouts. Students can also visit the Kids Den for games and other resources.
